If you notice that your photos are being cut off or cropped when using the Google Photos screensaver (especially in landscape mode), it is likely due to the "Photo fill screen" setting.
By default, this setting stretches or zooms in on images to ensure there are no black bars on the sides, which can cause cropping if your photo’s aspect ratio doesn't match the screen.
Steps to Fix the Cropping Issue:
- Open the Screensaver App: Navigate to the Screensaver application on your device's home screen.
- Access Photo Settings: Click on the Settings-Enter Photos Settings
- Disable "Photo Fill Screen": Locate the option labeled "Photo fill screen" and turn off the toggle.
- Save & Preview: Exit the settings. Your photos will now be displayed in their original proportions without being cropped.
Note: With this setting turned off, you may see black bars on the sides of photos that were not taken in a 16:9 widescreen format (such as vertical phone photos). This ensures the entire content of your photo is visible.
Why does this happen?
Our 21.5" Digital Calendar uses a 16:9 widescreen display. Most smartphone photos are taken in 4:3 or 3:2.
- With "Photo Fill Screen" ON: The device zooms in to fill every inch of the screen (Cropped).
- With "Photo Fill Screen" OFF: The device shows the full image in its original shape (No Cropping).
