Important Note About Apple Photos
Since "Apple Photos" is part of Apple's closed ecosystem, it cannot be downloaded on Android-based smart display devices, including our calendar. This means photos cannot be synced directly from the iPhone's "Photos" app the way they can between Apple devices.
This is not unique to Apolosign — most Android digital calendars and smart display devices that support photo slideshow functionality work in the same way.
5 Methods to Upload Photos
Method 1: Email
- Attach photos to an email draft
- Sign in on the device with the same account
- Download photos on the device
Tip: You can save photos as attachments in an email draft on your phone or computer, then open that email on the calendar device and download the attachments.
Method 2: Google Photos
- Sign in to your Google account on the device
- Select the photos or videos you want
- Download to the device locally
Note: Videos must be downloaded to the device's local storage before they can be used — they cannot be streamed directly online.
Method 3: iCloud
- Access iCloud via Chrome browser
- Download photos to the device
- Extract files if needed
- Use from "Local Album"
Tip: Photos downloaded from iCloud may be in a compressed archive format. Extract them first, then import via "Local Album."
Method 4: Bluetooth
- Pair the device via Bluetooth
- Send/share photos from your phone
- Accept the transfer on the calendar device
Tip: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled and set to discoverable on both devices. Once paired, you can transfer photos directly.
Method 5: USB Drive
- Insert a USB drive into the device
- Open "Files" or "Files by Google"
- Download photos to the device's local storage
- Select and use from "Local Album"
Tip: This method requires no internet connection and is ideal for transferring a large number of photos at once. Recommended as the preferred option.
Summary:
All 5 methods above will successfully upload photos to your Apolosign calendar device. For iPhone users, we recommend Google Photos, iCloud (via Chrome browser), or Bluetooth. For transferring a large batch of photos, the USB Drive method is the fastest and does not require an internet connection.
