Overview
If you open the Google Photos app on your Apolosign device and see grey boxes instead of your pictures, it means the thumbnails are not loading correctly. This is usually caused by a temporary network interruption, a cache error, or an account synchronization issue.
Please follow these steps to restore your photos:
Step 1: Clear App Storage and Cache
Sometimes, corrupted temporary files can prevent images from displaying.
Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps.
Find and select Photos.
Tap on Storage & Cache.
Select "Clear Storage" (and "Clear Cache"). (Note: This will not delete your actual photos; it only refreshes the app's local data).
Step 2: Refresh Your Network Connection
A stable internet connection is required to fetch thumbnails from the cloud.
Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong.
Try toggling your Wi-Fi off and back on again in the settings menu to refresh the connection.
Step 3: Re-authenticate Your Google Account
If the grey boxes persist, your login authorization may have timed out.
Go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts.
Select your Google account and Sign Out (Remove Account).
Sign In again to refresh the authorization and trigger a fresh sync.
Still having trouble? If your photos still don't appear after these steps, please ensure your Google Photos account has "Back up & sync" enabled on your primary device (like your smartphone). For further assistance, contact us at support@apolosign.com.
