If your Apolosign device won't let you in — whether it's frozen at startup or locked by a password you can't remember — follow the steps below in order. Start with the option that does not erase your data.
Step 1: Device frozen or stuck? Try a force restart first (no data loss)
If the device is frozen, unresponsive, or stuck on the logo screen, a force restart usually resolves it:
- Press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds until the device restarts.
- Wait for the device to boot up normally.
If the device restarts and you can log in as usual, you're done — no data was lost.
Step 2: Locked out because you forgot your password? A factory reset is the only way
For security reasons, there is no password recovery option. If you have forgotten your password or PIN, the only way to regain access is to perform a factory reset.
⚠️ Important — read before resetting:
- A factory reset will erase ALL data on the device (Wi-Fi settings, bound accounts, and preferences).
- If the device is locked, data cannot be backed up beforehand.
- After the reset, you will need to set up the device again from scratch. See the [Quick Setup Guide] to get started.
How to perform a factory reset:
- With the device powered off, press and hold “Volume +” and “Power” at the same time to enter recovery mode.
- Use “Volume −” to select Factory data reset, then press the Power button to confirm.
- After about 10 seconds, select Reboot system now and press the Power button. The device will restart and restore factory settings.
Tips to avoid getting locked out again
- Write down your password and keep it somewhere safe.
- If you share the device with family members, make sure more than one person knows the password.
- If you don't need the lock screen, you can set the password to None in settings.
