If your Apolosign Portable TV won't power on, the most common cause is that the screen is not receiving power from the battery — usually because the device was charged through the wrong port or not charged long enough. Start with the charging basics, then work through the checks below in order.
First: how to charge your Portable TV correctly
- Plug the charging cable into the charging port on the base — not the DC port on the back of the screen.
- The DC port on the back of the screen is for diagnostic testing only. Using it as your regular charging method can cause the battery to stop at around 50% and never reach a full charge.
- Check the base indicator light
- The light on the base tells you the power status at a glance:
| Light | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🔴 Red | The charger is plugged in — the battery is charging and powering the stand |
| 🟢 Green | The battery has sufficient power |
| 🔵 Blue | The charger has been unplugged — the battery is now powering the stand |
| ⚫ Off | No power — check that the charger is firmly connected to both the base and the outlet |
⚠️ Tip: Charge the device through the charging port on the base (where the power cable plugs in, as shown below). The DC port on the back of the screen is for diagnostic testing only — using it as your regular charging method can cause the battery to stop at around 50% and never fully charge.
Step 1: Check the power cable connections
Please check the power cable in two places to make sure both are secure and correctly connected:
- The connection between the stand and the base.
- The connection between the stand and the screen.
Make sure each connector is fully pushed in and not loose.
Step 2: Verify the battery
With the charging cable connected to the base, check whether the charging indicator light turns on (see the color guide above).
- Light on: The device is receiving power — go to Step 3.
- Light off: Check that the power adapter is plugged into a working outlet and that the cable is firmly connected to the base. Try a different outlet or cable if available.
Step 3: Test with a direct screen connection (diagnostic only)
As a test, connect the charging cable directly to the DC port on the back of the screen.
- Screen turns on: The screen itself is fine — the problem lies with the base, the stand cable, or the connection between them. Please contact us for base/stand support.
- Screen still does not turn on: Continue to the section below.
Remember to switch back to charging through the base once you have finished testing.
Still won't turn on?
If the screen does not respond even when powered directly, please contact us at support@apolosign.com with:
- A photo of the label on the back of your device (model and serial number)
- A short video showing the cable connections and what happens when you try to power on (any indicator lights, sounds, or screen activity)
A video helps us identify the cause much faster and determine whether the issue is covered under warranty.
