When you import an external calendar into Apolosign using a URL (iCal/ICS format), you may notice that updates do not appear immediately. This is normal and expected due to the limitations of external calendar services.
Reasons for Delayed Updates
External Service Limitations
Many calendar services (Outlook, Apple Calendar, and other third-party apps) provide only read-only iCal/ICS feeds.
-
These feeds do not push updates in real time; the refresh frequency is determined by the external service.
URL-Imported Calendars Are Read-Only
Apolosign cannot send updates back to these external calendars.
-
Only Google Calendar and iCloud Calendar support true two-way sync with the Apolosign Calendar.
Device and App Refresh Intervals
Apolosign periodically checks for updates, but it may take several minutes to hours, depending on the source service.
How to Sync Imported External Calendars on Apolosign
If your imported calendar updates aren’t showing, you can manually sync to get the latest events immediately:
Open the Apolosign mobile app on your phone.
Tap the "More (⋯)" icon in the top-right corner.
Scroll down and select "Calendars".
Find the calendar you want to update and tap it.
Tap "Sync Calendar" to fetch the latest events from the external calendar.
✅ Once synced, all recent changes from the imported URL/iCal calendar will appear on your Apolosign Calendar.
Tips and Notes
Read-only nature: Edits must be done in the original calendar service; Apolosign cannot push changes back to URL-imported calendars.
Automatic refresh: If you don’t want to manually sync, Apolosign will automatically update imported calendars approximately every 3–4 hours.
Multiple calendars: You can manually sync multiple imported calendars individually using the same steps.
Two-way sync: For real-time updates in both directions, use Google Calendar or Apolosign Calendar.
