If your remote control won't turn the Portable TV on, this is expected behavior rather than a fault — and here is why.
The remote uses Bluetooth, not infrared
Our remote control connects to the TV via Bluetooth. When the TV is completely powered off, its Bluetooth connection shuts down as well, so the remote has no way to send a signal to it. A Bluetooth remote therefore cannot wake a TV that is fully powered off — unlike an infrared remote, which only needs the TV to have power.
But it worked before — why?
When the TV is switched off, it doesn't power down instantly. It first enters sleep mode, and only powers off completely after a period of time. During sleep mode, Bluetooth is still running, so the remote can wake the TV back up. Once the TV has fully powered off, the remote can no longer turn it on.
How to turn the TV on
- Make sure the power cable is connected.
- Press and hold the power button on the back of the device for 2-5 seconds until the screen turns on.
The TV is on, but the remote doesn't respond at all?
If the TV is already powered on and the remote still does not respond, it is most likely a pairing issue rather than a power issue. Please see: Remote Control Connection: Pairing Issues (https://support.apolosign.com/hc/en-us/articles/54745084853401-Remote-Control-Connection-Pairing-Issues)
